The Surgical Services Manager provides operational and nursing leadership ensuring the quality of patient care within the Perioperative units This includes overseeing nursing staff, managing patient care activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in Pre-Op, OR, PACU, Short Stay, Sterile Supply & Infusion. The Surgical Services Manager collaborates with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and enhance the efficiency of departmental operations.
This is a full-time exempt position.

- Finance: Responsible for Samaritan overall financial health by consistently and proactively managing productivity and cost containment for department.

- Responsible for reporting audit goals, resource management and fiscal stewardship, maximization of productivity and cost containment, revenue generating opportunities, and monthly operational review.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Education:
- BSN required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Certification:
- Certification in clinical area of expertise preferred.
- License:
- Current Washington State RN license.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within six (6) months of hire. ACLS preferred.
- Experience:
- Three years prior experience/expertise in clinical area relevant to unit patient population preferred
- Skills/Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrates competency on equipment listed on department specific checklist.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

DIRECT & INDIRECT REPORTS:
- Direct Reports: Registered Nurses, Charge Nurses, Nurse Aides, OR Scrub Techs, Surgical Inventory Specialist, Surgery Scheduler, OR Turnover Techs, Medical Assistant, Sterile Processing Techs & Sterile Core Techs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional prolonged standing/walking. Occasional lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
- Extremely heavy physical effort, lift/carry up to 50+ lbs.
- Intermittent exertion when performing treatments.
- Good reading eyesight; full visual acuity, depth perception, and color perception.
- Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public.
