Interim Controller

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Interim Controller with a strong background in the banking or financial services sector. This role is ideal for a hands‐on accounting leader who can step in quickly, stabilize operations, and provide strategic financial oversight during a transition period. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to operate confidently in a fast‐paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and month‐end close.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, GAAP standards, and internal controls.
• Lead financial reporting, including preparation of statements, regulatory filings, and management reports.
• Partner with executive leadership to provide financial insights, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
• Support audits (internal and external) and coordinate required documentation.
• Identify process gaps and implement improvements to strengthen financial operations.
• Assist with budgeting, cash flow management, and strategic financial planning as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and banking compliance requirements.
• Proven experience leading accounting teams and managing month‐end close cycles.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in an interim or transitional environment.

Work Environment

• Primarily onsite in Addison, Texas, with limited remote flexibility.
• Collaborative, fast‐moving environment requiring strong initiative and independence.
