Position Summary

The Engine AMP Mechanic will support engine overhaul, module repair, assembly, disassembly, and test preparation activities for the CFM56 and CF6 engine platforms. This role ensures engines and modules are processed efficiently to support turn-around time (TAT), safety, and quality targets aligned with FAA, EASA, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Core Technical Duties

  • Perform engine/module disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and re-assembly of CFM56 and CF6 engine families in accordance with OEM, FAA/EASA, and GTS specifications.
  • Conduct inspections, measurements, and AMP task compliance per engine workscopes and Service Bulletins (SBs) / Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
  • Execute borescope assist, module splits, hot-section work, and turbine/compressor module tasks.
  • Prepare, install, and torque externals, lines, mounts, QEC kits, and accessories.
  • Support engine records accuracy, part tagging, and configuration control.
  • Assist engineering with root cause analysis, repair findings, and component condition reporting.
  • Ensure tooling calibration, FOD compliance, and adherence to safety standards.

Operational Performance

  • Meet engine turn-around time and quality metrics.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and communicate progress & constraints.
  • Maintain accurate job traveler and AMP compliance documentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with CFM56 and/or CF6 engine maintenance in an FAA/EASA repair station or OEM environment.
  • Proficiency in engine disassembly, module work, and external build-up.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals (AMM, ESM, CMM, SB, AD, IPC).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, precision measurement skills, and familiarity with aerospace tooling.
  • A&P license
  • Cerificate for CFM56 Turbines
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred

  • Previous work in an FAA Part 145 repair station.
  • On-wing or field-service experience (CFM56/CF6).
  • Experience with ERP engine tracking/programs (Corridor, AMT, Trax, CAMP, etc.).
