Responsibilities:
- Oversee nursing staff during night shifts to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Conduct regular assessments and monitor patient progress and vital signs.
- Implement and evaluate care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Participate in staff training and development initiatives.
Patient Care and Clinical Support
- Oversee patient assessments, detoxification an/or residential protocols, medication administration, and medical monitoring to ensure safe and compassionate care.
- Serve as a clinical resource for complex cases, providing guidance on medical issues and collaborating with medical and clinical teams.
- Promote patient-centered care practices that respect clients’ dignity, confidentiality, and recovery journey.
Medication Management
- Oversee safe storage, handling, and administration of medications, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement protocols for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in collaboration with medical providers.
- Conduct regular audits of medication records and storage areas to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Staff Training and Education
- Develop and deliver training for nursing and clinical staff on topics such as detox and residential protocols, medical management of withdrawal symptoms, infection control, and emergency response.
- Ensure nursing staff maintain necessary licensure and certifications, providing access to continuing education and professional development.
- Keep staff informed of the latest best practices and research in addiction treatment and nursing care.
Requirements:
- Current RN license in Virginia, with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of addiction recovery and mental health principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
- Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient-centered care.
