Responsibilities:

  • Oversee nursing staff during night shifts to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Conduct regular assessments and monitor patient progress and vital signs.
  • Implement and evaluate care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Participate in staff training and development initiatives.

Patient Care and Clinical Support

  • Oversee patient assessments, detoxification an/or residential protocols, medication administration, and medical monitoring to ensure safe and compassionate care.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for complex cases, providing guidance on medical issues and collaborating with medical and clinical teams.
  • Promote patient-centered care practices that respect clients’ dignity, confidentiality, and recovery journey.

Medication Management

  • Oversee safe storage, handling, and administration of medications, ensuring compliance with legal and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and implement protocols for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) in collaboration with medical providers.
  • Conduct regular audits of medication records and storage areas to ensure accuracy and compliance.


Staff Training and Education

  • Develop and deliver training for nursing and clinical staff on topics such as detox and residential protocols, medical management of withdrawal symptoms, infection control, and emergency response.
  • Ensure nursing staff maintain necessary licensure and certifications, providing access to continuing education and professional development.
  • Keep staff informed of the latest best practices and research in addiction treatment and nursing care.

Requirements:

  • Current RN license in Virginia, with a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of addiction recovery and mental health principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Flexibility to work night shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to patient-centered care.
