Project Scope
The Safety Manager will oversee safety operations for an electrical contractor supporting the construction of a ski resort development project. Work will involve monitoring electrical construction activities and ensuring safe work practices across installation tasks, equipment operations, and general construction activities associated with resort infrastructure.
The Safety Manager will coordinate closely with project leadership, electrical crews, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements, and site-specific safety programs throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
OSHA 30 required
NFPA 70E required
Minimum 2+ years of safety experience
Electrical construction background required
Preferred:
CHST certification preferred but not mandatory
Key Responsibilities
Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations
Provide safety training as needed
Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety protocols
Oversee compliance with OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements
Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task plans
Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence
Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns
Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required
Skills & Knowledge
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding and enforcement of PPE requirements
Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction
Experience supporting safety programs in electrical construction environments
Ability to effectively communicate safety principles and regulatory requirements
