Financial Analyst needed at Westchester County leader in higher education. This is an onsite Monday through Friday 9am-5pm potential temporary-to-hire opportunity to join a wonderful organization.
Some Responsibilities Include:
- Fixed Assets Accounting and properpaperwork for capital projects according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Conducting cost analysis on financial programs and operations and calculating annual depreciation expense and monthly reconciliation
- Analyzing, reconciling, and maintaining Banner Fixed Assets database and approving or denying fixed asset, long term debt requisitions
- Monitoring capital projects and construction
- Preparing roll forward schedule for fixed assets
- Providing accounts reconciliation and analysis, including capitalization and depreciation of building, land and capital improvements, equipment, computers, etc.
- Reconciling capital lease accounts
- Preparing audit schedules
- Reconciling bank statements, posting interest income, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Posting Quarterly income from deposits held by Trustee and income/expense associated with Interest Rate Swap
- Preparing accrual entries and detailed analysis at month end to provide insight to management on findings
- Preparing long-term debt and Fixed Assets external reports
- Reconciling payroll related liability accounts and investigating and resolving any issues
Preferred Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
- Master's degree is a plus
- 2+ years' Financial Analysis and modeling experience
- Advanced Excel skills and excellent Microsoft Suite Knowledge
- Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
