Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support students with significant cognitive, medical, adaptive, and behavioral needs in a structured elementary school environment with a paraprofessional role based in Lees Summit, Missouri. This position serves in a goals-oriented classroom from 8:25 AM to 3:45 PM, Monday through Friday, assisting students who require behavioral support and occasional toileting assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students with cognitive and behavioral challenges in an elementary school setting
- Assist with adaptive skills and medical needs as required
- Implement behavior interventions and support classroom routines
- Support toileting and personal care needs sensitively and respectfully
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet individual student goals
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active paraprofessional certification or substitute paraprofessional certification recognized by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
- Experience working with students with behavioral and cognitive challenges, preferably in a school setting
- Comfort and ability to manage medical needs and toileting assistance
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable and committed to supporting student success in a special education environment

- Lees Summit, Missouri, serving at an elementary school within the North Kansas City school district
