Job Description
The General Production Worker supports day-to-day manufacturing operations by loading and unloading materials, assisting with machine operation, and preparing finished products for shipment. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth production flow, ensuring products are accurately packaged and labeled, and providing support to machine operators as needed in a fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload product on and off production machines in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with material blending as needed to support production requirements.
- Package finished products according to established standards and procedures.
- Label finished products accurately to ensure correct identification and traceability.
- Prepare products for shipping, including staging, organizing, and moving items in the warehouse.
- Support machine operators in running the production area, following instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Perform general production and warehouse duties as assigned to maintain workflow and cleanliness.
- Handle materials and equipment safely, including pushing reels, materials, or equipment weighing between 40 and 60 pounds as needed.
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping guidelines while working on the production floor.
- Stand, bend, and stretch throughout 12-hour shifts to complete production and warehouse tasks.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and understand English to follow written instructions, labels, and safety information.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds of material and load it into receptacles on a regular basis.
- Ability to push reels, materials, or equipment weighing approximately 40 to 60 pounds as needed.
- Physical ability to stand, bend, and stretch for the duration of 12-hour shifts.
- Comfort working in a general production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
- Reliability and willingness to perform general labor and production tasks as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in production, manufacturing, or warehouse operations is a plus.
- Machine operating experience is an advantage.
- Forklift experience is a plus and may support shipping and material handling activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with operators, supervisors, and team members in a production setting.
- Strong attention to detail when packaging, labeling, and preparing products for shipment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production and warehouse environment with 12-hour overnight shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The work involves frequent standing, bending, stretching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and pushing materials or equipment weighing 40 to 60 pounds. You will work around production machinery and warehouse equipment while supporting shipping and general labor activities. Performance is evaluated after six months, with the opportunity for a pay increase based on the evaluation.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pawcatuck, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
