The Assembly Technician works under close supervision to perform basic assembly of unit sections and sub-assemblies, as assigned within Evapco. The assembly technician may perform work independently or with assistance from other team members.
Position Reports to: Assembly Supervisor
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Accurately and efficiently assemble all models of Evapco towers, coolers, and condensers
- Build and correctly install various tower, cooler, and condenser sub-assemblies, including:
- Fans & Drives
- Pumps
- Water Distribution Systems
- Pulse Pure and Smart Shield Water Treatment Systems
- Controllers
- Electric Motors
- Read and comprehend various engineering and production documents, drawings, and instructions
- Performs dimensional and visual inspection of parts, assemblies, and final product as directed by the team leader
- Working under close supervision, assist as directed at customer locations to repair and install Evapco equipment
- Participate in team and shop business problem-solving activities that include quality, safety, scrap reduction, and process improvements
- Attend related training courses as scheduled
- Follow all related written and oral work instructions
- May perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
- Capable of and demonstrate all skills required of a Mechanic Helper
- A high school diploma or GED Equivalent is required
- Use, read, and comprehend a tape measure to within 1/32” is required
- Basic nomenclature and practical use of hand tools are required
- Reading and understanding Evapco production specifications, engineering drawings, and BOM’s, is required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), is preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Industrial setting (i.e., factory, outdoor)
- Temperature Extremes, in general, range from 20°ree; F. to 110°ree; F.
- Requires very good agility (i.e., bending, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, squatting, twisting, and lifting)
- Working at high elevations (i.e., tops of tall buildings or platforms)
- Normal work week Monday through Friday, Saturday work likely, some Sunday work
- May be required to work swing, when business needs dictate
