We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role does not involve prescription filling or script entry but focuses on customer service, processing refills, and phone communications. A strong understanding of pharmacy workflow is essential.
Responsibilities
- Answer voicemail and process prescription refills.
- Communicate with doctors' offices and provide support to long-term care and assisted living facilities.
- Handle prior authorizations as directed and address insurance rejection issues.
- Manage narcotic prescriptions and assist pharmacists with various tasks.
- Follow up with doctors and handle inquiries related to upcoming admissions.
Essential Skills
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent phone communication.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of insurance rejection codes and pharmacy workflow.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a retail or long-term care (LTC) pharmacy setting preferred.
- 1+ years of relevant experience is desirable.
- Frameworks experience is strongly preferred, though training is available.
- Open to candidates with customer service experience from LTC organizations.
Work Environment
The position requires working varied hours: Mondays and Fridays from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm; and every other Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The team comprises 10 pharmacists, with a rotating schedule and opportunities to collaborate with all pharmacists. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
