Position: Cold Forming/Header Technician (Multi-Die / Progressive)
Location: Lithia Springs, GA 30122
Schedule: 2:30pm–11:00pm
Pay: $20–22/hr
Job Summary
This role supports daily production by setting up and operating multi-die progressive cold heading machines for one of our manufacturing clients in Lithia Springs, GA. The position works closely with Production and Quality teams to ensure consistent part quality, efficient changeovers, and on-time output.
Responsibilities
• Set up and operate multi-die progressive heading machines per job travelers and part drawings
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Troubleshoot out-of-spec conditions and make process adjustments to maintain quality and uptime
• Change tooling and perform setups to support production schedules and part changeovers
• Perform routine equipment and tooling maintenance to support safe, reliable operation
• Accurately document production checks and communicate issues to Production and Quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while meeting production targets
Must Haves
• 5+ years of experience setting up and operating multi-die progressive cold headers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, part drawings, and job travelers
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on setup and adjustment experience
• Proficiency using inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, comparators)
• Experience troubleshooting forming processes and correcting dimensional issues
Preferred Skills
• Experience designing, modifying, or fitting tooling and dies
• Experience with roll thread machines or secondary operations
• Ability to operate basic shop equipment (lathe, surface grinder, hydraulic press)
• Background in fastener or precision formed component manufacturing
