Job Title: RN - PACU
Location: Syracuse, NY
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 – 15:00)
Block Scheduling: Not available
Local Pay: $60/hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking RN - PACU for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia (general, regional, and sedation)
- Assess and manage airway, breathing, circulation, and neurological status
- Provide pain management and administer medications as prescribed
- Identify and respond to post-operative complications, including respiratory distress and hemodynamic instability
- Manage Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery
- Perform continuous cardiac and vital sign monitoring
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection control and patient safety standards
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (NY or compact eligibility)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PACU, ICU, or critical care experience
- Strong knowledge of post-anesthesia recovery protocols
- Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, airway management, IV therapy, and medication administration
- Ability to recognize and manage post-operative complications
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS certification (if applicable)
- 3–5 years of PACU experience
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Experience with high-acuity surgical cases (cardiac, neuro, trauma)
