Maimonides currently seeks a full-time outpatient palliative care physician for our established clinic at Maimonides Cancer Center.
Clinical: Provide outpatient palliative care, manage symptoms, facilitate advance care planning, build patient panel and referral relationships, collaborate with oncology and multidisciplinary teams.
Growth: Opportunities to expand services to non-cancer populations and develop palliative medicine fellowship program.
Academic: Teach and supervise medical students, residents, and fellows; deliver lectures; pursue clinical research; potential SUNY Downstate faculty appointment.
Service: Engage in quality improvement initiatives, interdisciplinary committees, and clinical protocol development.
We require:
- Graduate from an accredited medical school (MD/DO)
- Fellowship training in hospice and palliative medicine
- BE/BC in related field (internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine, etc.) and BE/BC in hospice and palliative medicine. BE physicians are required to pass their boards at the earliest date possible.
- Unrestricted New York State medical license and valid DEA license
- ACLS/BLS certification
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding teaching ability
- Interest in working with a wide range of stakeholders to improve primary palliative care and palliative care access
We prefer:
- Experience in outpatient palliative medicine practice
- Demonstrated interest in community outreach and program development
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
We offer excellent comprehensive benefits including a 403(b)retirement. plan, Salary $240k to $258k.
