Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4×10 Days (0700–1730)
Pay: $3,286/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Position Overview
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio. This role supports a broad spectrum of diagnostic and interventional procedures across Cardiac Cath, Interventional Radiology (IR), Electrophysiology (EP), and Neuro Interventional services.
The technologist will scrub, monitor, and circulate for a wide range of procedures including diagnostic caths, PCI, vascular interventions, EP studies, stroke interventions, and image-guided IR cases. Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of imaging equipment, anatomy, sterile technique, and hemodynamic monitoring.
This assignment includes 8–10 call shifts per month (including 1–2 weekends), block scheduling as available, and requires meeting strict radius rules and compliance standards before submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, including scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring duties.
- Support vascular interventional procedures such as angiograms, stent placements, embolizations, thrombectomies, and drain placements.
- Assist in EP procedures including arrhythmia monitoring, mapping support, and device implant workflows.
- Support Neuro Interventional procedures including cerebral angiography, coiling, stroke interventions, and AVM treatments.
- Operate and troubleshoot imaging systems including fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and Philips imaging platforms.
- Demonstrate proficiency in radiation safety, sterile technique, exposure factors, and patient positioning.
- Prepare procedural rooms, set up equipment, and ensure accuracy in instrument handling and patient documentation.
- Monitor hemodynamics, recognize dysrhythmias, and assist with emergent interventions as needed.
- Participate in call rotation (8–10 shifts/month, including 1–2 weekends).
- Work every other weekend and every other holiday per unit scheduling requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.
- Maintain compliance with facility safety rules, radiation protection protocols, and mandatory module completion.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program (required).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab, IR, EP, or Neuro Interventional experience (required).
- ARRT registered (R) – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (required).
- Active Ohio Radiologic License (ODH) required.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
- Ability to scrub cardiac caths and IR procedures (required).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, positioning, radiation protection, sterile technique, and physiology.
- Proficiency with imaging equipment including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound.
- Must meet radius requirements: Permanent address must be >50 miles from the facility (special rule).
- Must meet OhioHealth system local rule: address must be >100 miles from central OhioHealth location.
- Must not have been employed as staff or PRN within the system in the last 366 days.
- Travelers may only have one call-off; more than one call-off or NCNS is grounds for termination.
- Ability to work call (8–10 shifts/month, including 1–2 weekends).
- Strong teamwork, communication, and ability to assist with diverse high-acuity patient populations.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
