Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized teaching opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work within a Self-Contained Autism Program serving Kindergarten through 3rd-grade students. This contract position is based in Derry, NH, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on five students with diverse levels of access, time in the program, and individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction tailored to students unique learning goals, utilizing task analysis and ongoing behavior tracking.
- Collaborate with school administration and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for program oversight and guidance.
- Support students social, academic, and behavioral development within the self-contained classroom environment.
- Work closely with assigned 1:1 paraprofessionals to implement effective strategies and ensure consistent support.
- Manage case documentation, progress reports, and coordinate with families and multidisciplinary teams to advocate for student success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in case management within special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) educational strategies and applied behavior analysis principles.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate individual student needs.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with administrators, BCBAs, paraprofessionals, and families.
