Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience in CNC milling. The qualified candidate must be able to set up, troubleshoot, and machine parts per the engineering requirements. Some G-Code programming knowledge is a must; you must know how to edit and make tool length offsets, work coordinate offsets, and work with general machinist tools including measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, height gages, and dial indicators.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up and run various multi axis CNC machines: Responsible for installing and properly aligning all fixtures and tooling required to setup and/or prove out new and repeat jobs. Maintain machine setup and tooling to produce high quality close tolerance parts at an acceptable production rate in a busy shop
- Employ knowledge of machine controls, program codes, fixtures and tool offsets, and CNC systems; edit programs as required
- Have pride in workmanship and a strong desire to utilize skills and knowledge to consistently produce quality parts
- Utilize all necessary gages and equipment to properly inspect parts
- Troubleshoot minor issues
- Understand and properly utilize all items included in job router
- Keep leadership aware of any condition that may affect the efficiency, quality or completion of jobs, and assist in continuous improvement activities
- Deburr parts as needed
- Perform other related tasks including but not limited to performing housekeeping tasks required to keep the work area safe, clean and organized
- Work effectively with others
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- 5 years or more CNC machining experience; experience with HAAS preferred
- Understanding and application of machining best practices
- 3 and 4 axis machining experience; 5 axis a plus
- Understanding of basic shop floor control tools and practices
- Ability to read and understand advanced blueprint features and shop routers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with others and independently
- Ability to be focused, positive and produce quality work under pressure and tight timelines
- Dependable and self motivated
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Must be able to stand up 8 or more hours per day
- Must be able to bend, stoop, use hands and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
