Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Registered Respiratory Therapist is needed to provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary care for inpatients and outpatients at a hospital located in the Saint Marys, OH area. This contract opportunity involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services under approved protocols to support patient health and recovery. The ideal candidate is a skilled respiratory care professional who can manage advanced procedures and ventilator therapies, working closely with physicians and the medical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory procedures including intubations and arterial line insertions
- Manage ventilator settings and deliver medicated aerosols via compressed gas
- Conduct pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and analyze blood gases
- Maintain patient airways and assist physicians during procedures
- Follow department policies and medical staff protocols to deliver timely, effective care
Qualifications and Certifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Valid Ohio Respiratory Therapist license
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Previous experience working in hospital respiratory care preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
