This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to provide dedicated support to 3rd-5th grade students in a reputable school setting located in Oak Park, Illinois. This full-time, on-site position involves working Monday through Friday from 7:50 am to 3:10 pm, managing a caseload of 10-12 students in need of specialized educational services. The role offers a contract position with the potential for renewal based on performance and fit, welcoming new graduates to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored educational instruction and support to elementary students with special education needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to student development
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and school policies
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral Degree in Special Education
- Active Illinois teaching licensure in Special Education
- Strong interpersonal skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues
