The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting dental professionals in providing high-quality care within general dentistry and oral surgery settings. Working closely in a medium-sized team of 4-7 members, the assistant engages extensively with patients to ensure a smooth and safe treatment process. This position involves a blend of clinical support, patient interaction, and administrative tasks utilizing practice management software and digital imaging tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure comfort throughout treatment
- Handle, organize, and sterilize dental instruments
- Assist dentists during procedures by anticipating needs and managing tools
- Educate patients on oral health and post-treatment care
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and materials
- Support radiography tasks including digital imaging
- Implement and maintain infection control protocols
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in dental assisting
Preferred Qualifications
- Dental Assisting Certification or related training
- CPR Certification
- Expertise in dental radiography and sterilization techniques
- Strong patient communication skills
- Familiarity with infection control practices
- Experience with dental practice management software and digital imaging tools
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team
