Summary:
The Truck Driver operates vehicles to transport equipment and parts for the dealership to customer locations or company locations. Responsible for inspection of vehicles, loading, securing and unloading equipment, and following state and federal guidelines
Essential Functions:
- Ensure all company values are adhered to and promoted by leading by example and participating in employee recognition programs.
- Receive scheduling information from manager, loads trailer with outbound equipment, delivers equipment to destination, unloads equipment, and loads any equipment for the next destination.
- Contact customer (or destination) as needed to confirm location / directions as required, and any requirements for unloading, loading, attachment location, etc. Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Ensure customer is satisfied with delivered equipment, doing a walk around or brief operation as required. Deliver all attachments and operating manuals to the customer. Confirms customer is satisfied before leaving the premises, and notifies supervisor immediately of any customer concerns.
- Complies with all safety procedures and government regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and company policy. Pre-trip inspections, equipment condition, oversize requirements, out-of-state licenses and requirements, log books, etc included.
- Responsible for the assigned equipment. Maintains a safe and clean vehicle, and ensures all required maintenance (scheduled or as needed) is performed timely and completely. Report any issues that cannot be resolved to supervisor promptly.
- Provides exceptional customer service and promotes the company in a positive manner. Ensures excellent communication with supervisor, dispatcher, other dealership location personnel, etc. to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction
Competencies:
- Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations, various agricultural and construction equipment.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and agricultural and construction equipment.
- Knowledge of computer systems / software and smartphones for email and internet-based applications such as mapping / GPS software.
- Ability to work extended hours during the week and weekends.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- CDL License
- 2+ years of operating a semi-trailer 3+ years of excellent driving record
