CDR ProSource is seeking an HR, Safety & Training Coordinator to join our team onsite in Dowagiac, MI. This position is primarily focused on leading workplace safety initiatives, ensuring OSHA compliance, and promoting a strong safety-first culture across the organization. In addition, this role supports HR functions including recruiting, training coordination, and employee engagement.
Job Details
Location: Dowagiac, MI
Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 per year (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8+ hours per day) some Saturdays as needed
Status: Full-Time, Onsite
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & Compliance (Primary Focus)
• Lead and manage the Safety Committee and related initiatives
• Develop, implement, and improve safety programs (LOTO, HazCom, PPE, machine guarding, confined space, etc.)
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure OSHA compliance
• Coordinate and deliver safety training (Forklift, Scissor Lift, First Aid/CPR, Fire Extinguisher, Emergency Response, etc.)
• Manage occupational health programs (respirator fit testing, hearing conservation, biometrics, flu shots, etc.)
• Maintain First Aid/CPR readiness and supplies
• Administer safety incentive programs (Safety Lotto, Safety PTO, etc.)
• Maintain accurate safety records, logs, and compliance documentation
• Track employee training records and certifications
• Identify training needs and coordinate development programs
HR & Recruiting Support (Secondary Focus)
• Manage full-cycle recruiting (job postings, sourcing, interviewing, selection)
• Build candidate pipelines through agencies, schools, and workforce programs
• Represent company at hiring events and job fairs
• Support recruitment marketing and career page updates
• Provide backup support for HR functions as needed
• Support employee engagement, recognition programs, and company events
• Assist with handbook updates and personnel file audits
• Coordinate service awards and company-branded materials
Required Skills & Abilities
• 2+ years of experience in Safety, HR, or related field (manufacturing preferred)
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety regulations
• First Aid/CPR/BBP certification (or ability to obtain)
• Knowledge of EEO, ADA, and employment laws
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (plus)
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead initiatives and promote a safety culture
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proactive and able to work independently
• Knowledge of recruiting and employment practices
• Familiarity with OSHA and HR compliance standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
