The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations across all imaging modalities — including CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography, and X-ray — while managing a team of 35 or more staff. This role demands both clinical credibility and strong management capability, including budget accountability, performance management, equipment oversight, and cross-functional partnership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Management
  • Manage FTE and NPE budgets; approve PTO; secure staffing backfill through StafferLink.
  • Approve and/or enter supply orders in OneLink; manage unsigned studies reports, PACS exceptions, and unended exams.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings; cascade regional and departmental communications to the team.
  • Research and resolve member concerns in a timely, professional manner.
  • People Leadership
  • Directly manage 60–75% of department employees; conduct total performance reviews.
  • Lead employee development initiatives and manage performance in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
  • Submit FMLA documentation for impacted employees; partner with IDM as required.
  • Equipment & Facilities
  • Oversee equipment failures; communicate to leadership and the call centre where patient care is impacted.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation of all equipment failure incidents.
  • Strategic & Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Monitor exam volumes and access reports to identify trends; draft and submit business cases to the Director.
  • Prepare and submit capital cases as required.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders — Ambulatory, Pediatrics, ACC, Specialties, Pain Clinic, Orthopedics — to improve workflows and resolve operational issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a radiologic technologist, sonographer/ultrasound technologist, mammographer, or nuclear medicine technologist.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a radiology supervisory role with direct reports — including responsibility for annual performance reviews and hiring/termination decisions.
  • Nuclear Medicine experience required (may be combined with the above technologist experience).
  • Prior management of a team of 30 or more staff across multiple imaging modalities strongly preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited diagnostic imaging programme, OR Bachelor's Degree, OR 4 years of directly related experience.
