Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An elementary school in Espanola, NM is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time, contract position during the current school year. This role involves providing specialized instruction to meet the unique learning needs of students in a pull-out and inclusion setting. The position is onsite and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to support each student's academic and behavioral development.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing individualized lessons that align with students IEP goals, creating a structured and positive classroom environment, and utilizing evidence-based instructional and behavior management techniques. The teacher will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. Maintaining accurate documentation to comply with state and federal regulations, monitoring student progress, and actively participating in IEP meetings and evaluations are also key aspects of this role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education
- Active New Mexico Special Education Teacher certification
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
