Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, Adapted Physical Education (APE) certification, and 1+ years Adaptive PE Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to provide summer compensatory services (ESY) in a small K-12 school district located in Piedmont, CA. This is a contract position with on-site work only, serving students with special needs over the summer session.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver Adaptive Physical Education instruction to K-12 students during extended school year (ESY)
- Plan and implement physical education activities tailored to the abilities and goals of each student
- Collaborate with special education staff and parents to ensure effective service delivery
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports as required
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license with Adaptive Physical Education (APE) endorsement
- Experience working with K-12 students in adaptive physical education settings
- Knowledge of strategies and modifications to support diverse physical abilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Location: Piedmont, CA (on-site only)
- Contract Duration: June 8, 2026July 3, 2026
- Hours: 6 hours per week (4 direct contact hours, 2 preparation hours)
- Caseload: Small district serving K-12 students with special needs during ESY
