Our client is an artist management agency. They seek a temp-to-perm Bookkeeper to join their Brooklyn, NY office.
Responsibilities
- Record accurate and up-to-date financial data using accounting software
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing and payment tracking
- Execute job wrapping to ensure proper allocation of project costs and revenues
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions monthly
- Coordinate payroll processing and compliance, liaising with payroll providers as needed
- Handle HR administrative tasks, including benefits administration and insurance coordination
- Partner closely with the founders on financial reporting and budgeting
- Maintain compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies
- Drive improvements to streamline bookkeeping and financial processes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in a small agency or creative industry setting
- Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, AP, AR, bank and credit card reconciliations
- Familiarity with payroll, HR practices, and insurance administration in small businesses
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and ability to report financial information clearly
- Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, FreshBooks) and MS Excel
