Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position Overview:Our partner district in Quinby, SC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hearing Impaired Teacher to support students across multiple school sites. This is a full-time, itinerant position serving students with hearing impairments. The teacher will play a critical role in helping students access instruction and communicate effectively in the classroom environment.Details:

• Full Time: 35 hours/week
• August 2025 - May 2026
• Caseload: K-12 Students, itinerant between twoschool sites

Hourly pay: $40-45+ depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with hearing loss, tailored to their IEP goals
• Support students in both general education and special education settings
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, interpreters, and other service providers
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Consult with school staff on classroom accommodations, assistive technology, and hearing equipment (e.g., FM systems)
• Foster language development through a variety of communication methods (e.g., spoken English, ASL, cued speech, total communicationbased on student needs)
• Travel between assigned school sites as required

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field
• Valid South Carolina teaching licensewith endorsement in Hearing Impairment, DHHor Deaf Education
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in an itinerant or school-based setting
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required
