Position Summary:
The Procedure Scheduler is responsible for organizing, scheduling, and confirming interventional pain management procedures. This position plays a key role in ensuring a smooth experience for patients by communicating clearly, verifying insurance requirements, and collaborating closely with clinical staff and providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and confirm all pain management procedures in a timely, accurate manner.
- Communicate pre-procedure instructions and preparation requirements to patients.
- Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and coordinate with referring offices.
- Work closely with providers and nursing staff to manage the daily and weekly procedure schedule.
- Update and maintain accurate information in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Manage scheduling changes, cancellations, and rescheduling requests.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of experience in a medical office or scheduling environment preferred.
- Experience in pain management or specialty scheduling strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
