Duties & Responsibilities
- Identify sources that meet CandyCo's requirements for best value, timely delivery and high quality
- Execute the procurement process, encompassing sourcing, supplier selection, technical evaluations, cost analysis and handling purchase orders along with documentation and supplier communications
- Negotiate contractual agreements to obtain competitive pricing, advantageous terms and dependable service levels. Monitor vendor performance through key performance indicators, scorecards and regular evaluations emphasizing cost, quality, delivery and service metrics
- Build strong relationships and establish consistent communication channels with suppliers
- Lead regular procurement status meetings with suppliers to ensure mutual accountability
- Monitor supplier performance, collaborating with Quality and Research & Development, Engineering and Sales to address any issues
- Resolve delivery issues, which may include challenges with suppliers, receiving and certification problems and invoice discrepancies
- Create summaries of bids based on information gathered from purchase requisitions
- Maintain and update procurement data in CandyCo's ERP system (Netsuite)
- Coordinate with Planning to manage purchase orders and troubleshoot any issues
- Manage vendor relationships, track performance and communicate and implement vendor performance feedback Develop & implement SOP for packaging development
- Continue the cost monitoring mechanism to trace and track the price of commodities which directly or indirectly affect the cost of packaging
- Overview and monitor vendor performance, OTIF, fill rate in coordination with the supply chain team
Competencies:

- Lead Strategic Sourcing Initiatives: Drive cost savings and enhance supplier performance through strategic sourcing efforts
- Utilize Advanced Analytics: Employ analytics tools for spend analysis, cost-saving identification and procurement reporting
- Manage Supplier Risk Assessment: Develop and oversee supplier risk assessment processes to mitigate potential disruptions. CAPA/RCA for items
- Exceptional Negotiation Skills: Demonstrate strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and agreements with suppliers
- Project Management: Manage end-to-end procurement projects, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment with project goals
- Project Planning: Create comprehensive project plans outlining timelines, resource allocation and risk management strategies
- Sourcing Plans: Implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize supplier performance and achieve operational efficiency
- Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate strong partnerships with key suppliers, focusing on continuous improvement and mutual success
- Standardization: Establish procedures and best practices to streamline operations and enhance effectiveness
- Supplier Accountability: Establish and maintain metrics and reporting systems to monitor supplier performance effectively
- Expand Supplier Base: Identify and develop relationships with new suppliers to diversify and strengthen the supply chain
- Cross-functional Liaison: Act as a liaison between internal departments and suppliers to facilitate effective communication and collaboration
- Training and Support: Lead training sessions and support procurement staff in adopting new processes and technologies
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold company safety, compliance standards and core values, promoting a safe work environment
- Company Morale: Foster a positive work environment and contribute to maintaining high morale among team members
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the manager
- Must be able to communicate in English proficiently with writing, reading and speaking.
Experience:
- 10 years of recent experience in Supply Chain
- Must have experience with ERP systems, Netsuite is preferred
- Experience in contract administration, including renewals and vendor performance assessments
- Possesses strong analytical capabilities for evaluating pricing models and identifying potential cost efficiencies
- Demonstrates excellent communication, organizational and collaborative skills across diverse functional teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Purchasing, Inventory Control and/or Supply Chain Management
- Production planning familiarity
- Lean Six Sigma methodology certification/training/experience
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work any/all shifts as directed
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including Holidays and/or weekends
- Standing/walking for long period of time
- Must be an avid Safety Champion and adhere to all safety programs and procedures
Physical Requirements
- A non-slip resistant work shoe
- Must be able to work all shifts as directed.
- Pre-shift stretch and exercises to be performed
- Hair restraint, beard net (if needed), and Safety gloves as needed
- All required PPEs are worn properly when working with equipment or chemicals that require personal protection
- Position requires the ability to: stand, sit at a desk, walking around the facility, lifting and carrying up t0 50-LBS unassisted, reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting
- Also requires the ability to: see, hear, and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette
