Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a Mental Health Specialist serving general education students in Oxford, MI. This role focuses on providing individual and group social-emotional support while collaborating with classroom staff to implement positive behavior programs and professional learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social-emotional support to students through individual and group sessions
- Collaborate with educators to support classroom and building-wide initiatives
- Assist in implementing positive behavior interventions and professional development activities
- Support overall mental health and well-being efforts within the school environment
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a relevant field and a valid Michigan license from LARA, such as:
- Licensed Masters Level Social Worker (LMSW) or Social Worker license
- Licensed Masters Level Psychologist or School Psychologist credential
- Licensed Masters Level Marriage and Family Therapist or Professional Counselor
- Licensed Bachelor Level Social Worker (LBSW) currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a Masters program leading to LMSW or LLMSW within 24 months
- School Counselor License (SCL) or equivalent credentials with plans to meet licensing requirements within 24 months when applicable
- Experience working in school settings providing mental health and social-emotional support preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school personnel
