We are looking for a Procurement Operations Specialist who is eager to develop and foster supplier relations to ensure that customer expectations are met in accordance with our corporate values and goals. The ideal candidate will organize and facilitate all procurement functions providing superior service to all departments and customers. They will collaborate with the Sales and Operations departments to identify and improve order process inefficiencies. The Procurement Operations Specialist will have solid understanding of how to solve order related problems for the customer.


The hourly pay range for this position, based out of Syracuse, NY, is $21.15- $26.25. The actual hourly rate offered will vary based on applicant’s relevant skills, education, experience, certifications, and geographic location as well as other business and organizational needs.


What you'll be doing

  • Coordinate and follow all Procurement functions and responsibilities for assigned suppliers, from
  • PO creation to shipment of product including:
  • Obtaining and negotiating pricing & availability data in a timely manner at the request of the sales team.
  • Manage multiple queues and efficiently process tickets and requests, including P&A and part number creation, as well as placing purchase orders for all CX company divisions.
  • Monitor backlog maintain accurate ship dates on all open purchase orders, which includes re-sourcing PO's to alternate suppliers when appropriate.
  • Execute drop shipment confirmations.
  • Identify shipping discrepancies and report the order problem when necessary.
  • Process Manual POs from authorized requests, emails and manual requisitions.
  • Maintain data integrity by ensuring system costs are current and accurate.
  • Conduct vendor evaluations and generate reports in accordance with established procedures.
  • Proactively communicate with suppliers regarding service, pricing, and delivery issues; develop efficient communication processes and recommend long-term solutions to improve vendor performance.
  • Address and resolve issues related to unknown or incorrect products received at the warehouse, invoice discrepancies, and other procurement-related problems.
  • Recommend submission of Corrective Action Requests (CARs), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), monitor log and Preventive Action Requests (PARs) as appropriate.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate complex procurement or transaction matters to the appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Collaborate regularly with the sales team to resolve order issues, clarify requirements, and support the ordering process.
  • Add new suppliers to Oracle.
  • Optimize the use of vendor platforms to access current pricing, lead times, product details, shipment tracking, and occasional order entry.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Ability to adjust work hours occasionally based on business needs.


What we're looking for:

  • Associate degree or higher. Experience or background in purchasing, sales, customer service or logistics preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of accountability and accuracy.
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to take ownership, stay organized, and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, decision making skills, and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and be able to work in an open team environment as well as independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle systems preferred
