This role focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical intensive care unit during night shifts. The nurse will employ the nursing process while collaborating with various departments. Responsibilities include safeguarding patient confidentiality, adhering to both professional and organizational standards, and maintaining relevant certifications such as BLS, with potential requirements for ACLS or PALS. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to ensure quality patient care. They will be accountable for the care provided to their assigned patients and will assess the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Coordination of patient care will be done in collaboration with other departments, while upholding patient rights and confidentiality. All duties will be performed in alignment with our mission, values, and service standards.
Position Details:Qualifications:
- Education: Must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license in the state of employment or compact licensure, meeting all state board of nursing requirements.
- Experience: Relevant experience in nursing is preferred.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or completion of the course within 30 days of hire.
- Additional certifications may be required based on the specific position/unit, or must be obtained within the designated timeframe, including but not limited to:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurse)
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
- C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
- Other unit-specific certifications as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- The role requires the ability to regularly push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged standing and walking are necessary during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat is essential for performing job duties.
