The primary duty of this role is to perform sample preparation for x-ray analysis. The position involves synthesis, catalyst zeolite, autoclave processes, ion exchange, and the use of analytical instruments. You will work with 2-liter pressure vessels for reactions and collaborate with a PhD professional. The role also includes wet chemistry, pH, and viscosity testing. Thorough documentation and adherence to safety procedures are essential.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples for x-ray analysis.
- Conduct synthesis and catalyst zeolite procedures.
- Operate autoclaves and perform ion exchange.
- Utilize x-ray diffraction and analytical instruments.
- Handle 2-liter pressure vessels for chemical reactions.
- Work collaboratively with a PhD-level chemist.
- Perform wet chemistry, pH, and viscosity testing.
- Document processes meticulously and follow safety protocols.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in wet chemistry and viscosity testing.
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry, x-ray diffraction, and x-ray fluorescence.
- Strong documentation and safety procedure skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
- College lab experience, including internships or research projects.
- Experience with x-ray fluorescence and x-ray diffraction preferred.
- Experience in ICCP, particle size analysis, or atomic absorption is advantageous.
- Meticulous, motivated, and able to handle multiple priorities.
Work Environment
This role is based at a global manufacturer of chemicals and catalysts, specifically at their R&D site in Conshohocken. The work environment is a laboratory setting, requiring flexibility to assist other groups as needed. This is a first-shift position.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
