Position Summary:
The After Market Group Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for leading and overseeing the installation, retrofit, and replacement of mechanical and HVAC systems within the After Market division. This role ensures that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to scope, budget, and quality standards. The Mechanical Superintendent provides on-site supervision, technical expertise, and coordination between field crews, subcontractors, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all field activities for aftermarket mechanical projects, including retrofits, replacements, energy storage tank installs and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with MJEC standards, project specifications, and local codes.
- Oversee field crews, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure top-quality workmanship.
- Coordinate scheduling, materials, tools, and equipment needed for each project phase.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to resolve technical or logistical challenges.
- Review project plans, specifications, and submittals to confirm proper installation methods.
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance.
- Track daily progress, identify potential issues, and communicate project status to management.
- Maintain accurate job documentation, including safety reports, time sheets, and project logs.
- Support commissioning and startup activities as needed.
- Represent MJEC professionally when interacting with customers and partners.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical, HVAC, or related construction field; 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, piping, sheet metal, and controls integration.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
