Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school in Saint Helens, OR is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary-level students. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 32 students, helping them achieve academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student
- Adapt general education curriculum to meet the unique learning requirements of students with disabilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to promote an inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven decisions to adjust instructional strategies
- Participate in team meetings and professional development to stay current with best practices in special education
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Oregon Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with elementary school-aged students in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, teaching strategies, and intervention techniques
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
