Job Summary: The Commercial Job Coordinator / Estimator ensures that any commercial job is completed by required deadlines, exceeds or meets profitability requirements and runs smoothly from estimate through the construction process. In addition to ensuring the job is estimated accurately and meets profitability requirements, the PME also ensures job site has everything it needs regarding information and materials.
Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate material orders, job site deliveries, and pre-construction meetings well in advance of project start dates.

Proactively anticipate on-site material needs to prevent shortages, delays, over-ordering, or off-plan purchases.

Maintain consistent, daily communication with site personnel to address issues early, reinforce material lead times, and ensure materials are used as intended.

Monitor material usage, project costs, and overall job profitability at all stages of the project; analyze overruns and resolve issues with site teams and sales.

Track job performance metrics, KPIs, and profitability to maintain clear visibility into project health.

Prepare, review, and adjust estimates for lumber and lumber-related materials; resolve and communicate change orders.

Identify estimating errors, missing materials, and recurring trends; provide feedback to improve estimating accuracy.

Collaborate closely with sales, purchasing, inventory control, contractors, designers, and customers to develop accurate bids and meet project and client deadlines.

Use CAD, Excel, and estimating software to prepare layouts, drawings, bids, and quotations as required.

Review completed projects to evaluate estimating performance and drive continuous improvement in profitability.

Support effective inventory usage, including incorporating aging materials when appropriate to reduce inventory exposure.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent construction or estimating experience.

Minimum of two years of experience estimating or building residential, commercial, or agricultural projects, or estimating in a lumber yard; framing experience may be considered.

Strong understanding of construction methods, particularly commercial projects.

Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with BisTrack and Bluebeam preferred.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and prints; CAD knowledge helpful but not required.

Strong verbal, written, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift up to 75lbs and occasionally work in yard, production, or job site environments.
