Job DescriptionPosition Overview

The Revenue Accountant is responsible for managing and recording revenue-related financial transactions with accuracy and timeliness. This role will oversee accounts receivable processes, maintain the general ledger, and perform regular bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables, apply payments, and follow up on past-due accounts.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of AR activities, adjustments, and communications.

General Ledger

  • Prepare and post journal entries including revenue, adjustments, and reclassifications.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support audit requests by providing schedules, documentation, and explanations as needed.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all operating and treasury accounts.
  • Identify and research reconciling items, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Monitor and verify cash activity and maintain accurate cash reporting.

Revenue Accounting

  • Analyze and record revenue transactions in accordance with GAAP.
  • Review contracts for appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
  • Prepare revenue reports and proactively investigate variances.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate billing and reporting.
  • Participate in process improvements to streamline workflow and increase efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably with revenue or AR focus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
