Seasonal Camp Nurse (RN/LPN)
Location: On-site, Remote Outdoor Camp (Location details provided upon interview)
Employment Type: Full-Time – Mid-June through Early August (Seasonal)
Compensation: RNs: $800–$1,000 per week; LPNs: Up to $800 per week depending on qualifications
Overview
A seasonal youth camp is seeking a compassionate and qualified Seasonal Camp Nurse (RN/LPN) to join our summer team. The nurse plays a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of both campers and staff in a dynamic outdoor setting. This position provides an opportunity to practice meaningful healthcare in a unique environment, helping children enjoy a safe and enriching camp experience.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide daily healthcare services, including medication administration and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries

Keep accurate medical records and treatment documentation

Conduct pre-camp health screenings and intake evaluations

Hold regular clinic hours for non-emergency care

Communicate health updates to parents or guardians as needed

Promote good hygiene and preventative health practices across camp

Train staff on basic health procedures and first-aid response

Oversee the maintenance and distribution of first-aid kits

Keep the medical area stocked and prepared for emergencies

Participate in select camp programs and end-of-season reporting
Schedule & Team Support

Flexible schedule with daytime, evening, and occasional overnight shifts

Collaborate with on-site emergency staff to ensure round-the-clock coverage

Primarily weekday hours, with 3–4 weekend shifts required over the season
Qualifications

Active RN or LPN license in the state of employment

Current CPR and First Aid certification

Capable of making autonomous medical decisions and acting swiftly under pressure

Strong organizational and communication skills

Experience in pediatrics, schools, camps, or similar settings preferred
