JOB SUMMARY:
The Dishwasher’s primary responsibility is to uphold the restaurant’s high standards of excellence by providing the highest quality of service to guests. The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and cleaning tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. The Dishwasher is also responsible for keepingthe dish room and equipment clean and organized.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service2.
- Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
- Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude during all interactions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
- Loads, runs and unloads the dish machine. Keeps the dish machine clean and reports any functional or mechanical problems promptly to management
- Monitors the dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycles.
- Washes and stores all tableware and kitchenware. Maintains adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen use. Handles tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Bags and hauls dish room trash to dumpster as needed.
- Cleans food preparation and production areas as needed.
- Assists kitchen staff as necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen.
- Maintains a clean, organized and appropriately stocked work area
- Thoroughly completes any assigned set-up, side work or closing duties.
- Thoroughly communicates with management and associates through daily communication and attends required meetings.
- Understands and applies all facility safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.
- Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
