The Building People, LLC, is seeking an Operations Specialist to support the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) at the Department of Energy. The Operations Specialist position is a crosscutting role on supporting the Program Director and the Operations team. The position will provide excellent customer service to staff, external stakeholders, and laboratory partners while ensuring the administrative support functions are processed in a timely and professional manner.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Provide a broad spectrum of planning, budgeting, performance management, reporting, communications, tools and business management services and support for Program Director.
- Provide support for Program management plans, operating plans, reports, and related planning documents.
- Develop standard templates to support office agile project execution (requirements documents, agile road maps, etc.).
- Develop a resource library for office specific templates.
- Provide SharePoint management assistance (taxonomy, organization, etc)
- Support Program budget execution
- Support Organization Development goals by tracking action items for Program Leadership and implementation of organizational ideas
- Support office maintenance, assist with office moves logistics, and office space planning.
- Support data entry and team coordination
- Provide updates to project plans, tasks plans, and related calendars.
- Provide day-to-day support to sub-office teams, as needed.
Required Experience & Skills
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience
- B.S. or B.A. in a related discipline; four (4) years of experience may be substituted for Bachelor's degree requirement.
- A Master's Degree may be substituted for an additional two (2) years of experience.
- Able to work from Washington, DC when DOE begins Phase 3 of its COVID response (date TBD).
- Authorized to work in the United States

- Experience obtaining, verifying, and evaluating general and quantitative information
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Outlook and Teams
- Working knowledge of computer software utilized in project/program data collection and analysis
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Preferred Education
