Salary Range: $56,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, and repair complex tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures using precision machining equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to create accurate tooling.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.
  • Perform precise measurements and quality checks to ensure tooling meets strict tolerances and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing tooling to optimize production processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify tooling needs and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Select appropriate materials and heat-treating processes for tooling fabrication.

Recommended Qualifications

  • - Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a similar manufacturing role.
  • - Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings.
  • - Strong understanding of machining principles, including milling, grinding, turning, and EDM.
  • - Experience with precision measuring instruments and techniques (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
  • - Knowledge of various tool steels, their properties, and heat treatment processes.
  • - Ability to operate and maintain a variety of machine tools and equipment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with CNC programming and operation
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tool design
  • Knowledge of various heat-treating processes for tooling
  • Familiarity with EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) operations
  • Experience with mold flow analysis software
