Coho Integrated Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Massage Therapist to work with military pilots at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in musculoskeletal anatomy of the neck and spine, with expertise in supporting rapid recovery, injury prevention, and overall health maintenance. This role is integral to the expansion of the strength and conditioning program, ensuring pilots remain physically prepared and resilient to the demands of flying.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Provide professional massage therapy services to all assigned pilots.
- Conduct massage therapy sessions in the rehabilitation room, ensuring each pilot receives one (1) hour of therapy every two (2) months.
- Address individual concerns related to neck and back pain, posture, flexibility, range of motion, soreness, and muscle tightness.
- Apply a variety of massage therapy techniques including, but not limited to: longitudinal gliding, kneading, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep transverse frictions, compression massage, cross-fiber massage, Swedish massage, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretches.
- Optimize scheduling to maximize therapeutic benefits for pilots, prioritizing those with the greatest need while ensuring broad program access.
- Conduct initial evaluations for each pilot within 90 days of contract start, followed by reassessments every six (6) months, or more frequently as needed.
- Collaborate with the Strength and Conditioning Coach to address specific concerns and adapt therapy to individual pilot needs.
- Maintain professional standards by complying with all local, state, and federal laws, Air Force and DoD guidance, ethical codes, and massage therapy practice standards.
- Manage and launder therapy linens using provided facilities and supplies.
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Citizenship:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in accordance with federal contract eligibility requirements
- Education/ Certifications
- Certification from an accredited Massage Therapy program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience as a Massage Therapist working with elite-level athletic populations (e.g., Special Operations Forces, Division I collegiate athletes, Olympic athletes, or professional sports teams).
- Licensure
- Active license or certification in Massage Therapy with the State of Maryland.
Position Pay Range$30—$45 USD
