Philly’s Best Steak in Yeadon, PA, was founded in 1995 and quickly became known as a leader in the manufacturing of quality cheesesteak meat. As a Human Resources Director reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing HR strategies within our organization. Your expertise will drive employee engagement, talent management, and organizational development. You will collaborate with senior leadership to ensure HR practices align with business goals and foster a positive work environment. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Talent Management and Retention
· Facilitate the development and execution of enhanced talent management and retention strategies to enable Philly’s Best’s continued growth trajectory.
· Partner with internal and external resources to attract and retain world-class talent.
· Establish Philly’s Best as an Employer of Choice within its industry.
· Identify gaps in current resources and forecast future business needs.
Employee Relations Strategy
· Provide counsel on employee relations strategy, including investigations, compliance, and disciplinary actions.
· Collaborate with other Philly’s Best functional groups (Safety, Production, legal, etc.) to identify and implement Best Practices to foster an effective, focused workplace environment.
· Manage the company’s workers’ compensation policy and partner with insurers to efficiently manage employee claims.
Efficient Processes and Initiatives
· Support/drive initiatives in learning/training, leadership, performance, succession, and talent acquisition.
· Meticulous design of roles, responsibilities, and workflows to specifically suit Philly’s Best’s human capital needs. This clarity streamlines operations to reduce redundancies and boost overall efficiency, directly contributing to better business performance.
· Align efforts with overarching strategic goals of Philly’s Best.
Leadership Development
· Identify, cultivate, and drive key Talent Management initiatives across the organization for Philly’s Best.
· Use advanced analytics and technology to shape and deliver effective learning strategies.
· Mentor and develop the HR team to transition from transactional to strategic partners.
Human Capital Advice
· Provide sound advice to operational teammates and senior leadership.
· Determine how employees add value and facilitate performance management systems that ensure they are motivated, well-trained, and properly evaluated.
Compensation and Benefits
· Design competitive and equitable pay structures and benefits packages to attract and retain employees.
· Partner with broker resources to negotiate rates with vendors and carriers.
· Design competitive and equitable pay structures and benefits packages while managing the human resources department budget.
HR Technology Management
· Evaluate and optimize HRIS platforms to manage HR operations including benefits administration, time-tracking, performance management, and payroll.
· Integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline hiring and reporting.
· Utilize system data to track workforce trends, employee turnover, and performance metrics to guide business decisions.
Budget Management
· Manage the organization's human capital budget, balancing employee needs with financial realities.
· Allocate funds for HR software, legal compliance, employee engagement events, and organizational training.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Education, Business Administration, MBA, Human Resources Management, Management, Psychology, or related fields.
· Certifications: SHRM is a minimum requirement.
· Experience: A proven track record of successfully working as a business partner with a senior management team, building trusting and effective relationships with leaders across the enterprise.
· Skillsets:
o Strategic Planning and Project Management
o HR policy design and implementation.
o Employee engagement and communication strategies.
o Compensation plan design and performance management.
o Training, leadership development, and succession planning.
o Recruitment and retention strategies, including benefits design.
o Employee relations and conflict management.
o 3+ years of managerial experience in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
o Willingness to coach and foster growth within the Human Resources department.
o Ability to quickly assimilate into the culture of the company and work effectively as a cross-functional business partner.
o Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
o Ability to thrive within a culture of continuous improvement.
