POSITION SUMMARY

Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children (CSAAC), is a private, nonprofit organization located and operating in Montgomery County, MD dedicated to supporting individuals diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Behavior support services (BSS) are provided to each individual based on a comprehensive functional assessment and behavior management plan. We are currently seeking individuals who are psychology associates in the state of Maryland or who are eligible to become psychology associates.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or school psychology from a program accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Or have a master’s degree in education with a field of specialization in psychology or counseling psychology from a program accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year experience desirable in training on behavior plan implementation, or relevant formal educational training in applied behavior analysis.

Skills: Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, as well as good organizational and coordinative ability. Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise patience, caring and concern in new and sometimes stressful situations. Computer literacy required, with a proficiency in standard business software applications (i.e., word processing, e-mail and spreadsheets).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Responsible for training all new staff at assigned to residences or vocational sites throughout Montgomery County, MD on the behavior management plan (BMP).

- After the initial training of staff, travels onsite to residences and vocational settings as scheduled by Psychologist to monitor BMP implementation and provide follow up consultation to staff on BMP.

- Investigates behavioral difficulties of individuals at the residences and/or vocational settings; make recommendations on possible solutions and approaches to the problems.

- Writes and distributes consultation notes of follow-up visits to CSAAC staff and to the Psychologist. Reports of follow-up visits are due within 48hrs of visit.

- Conducts evaluations at the residences and in the vocational program of staff implementation of BMP, as assigned by the Psychologist.

- Provide feedback on the implementation of instructional programs, daily schedules, and community inclusion to direct support staff and supervisors.

- Collects, analyzes, and distributes monthly behavioral data.

- Consults with other professionals including nursing, dietician, other mental health and medical professionals.

Hours: Day, evening and weekend hours are available.
