Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years ER RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Deliver critical patient care in an Emergency Room setting with a role requiring sharp multitasking and independent efficiency. This opportunity is located in picturesque Honokaa, HI, at a skilled nursing and hospital facility. Candidates must be ready to arrive the Thursday before their start date for an employee health appointment on Fridayplease only accept the position if this timing is feasible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide proficient emergency nursing care with a focus on stroke, STEMI, and trauma activations
- Utilize Meditech EMR, Life Pack Defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips Monitoring, and Motorola Radio Systems
- Adhere to core national safety standards, including National Patient Safety Goals and core measures
- Implement effective patient communication techniques such as AIDET and support Press Ganey customer service goals
- Float to other units as required based on clinical competency
Qualifications:
- Active State of Hawaii RN license is mandatory by the assignment start date; travelers without the license must apply immediately upon acceptance
- Minimum two years of relevant ER nursing experience
- Proficient IV skills and familiarity with acute emergency protocols
- Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, NIHSS (all mandatory)
- NCI and Procedural Sedation certifications are desirable but not mandatory
Shift Details:
- Variable 8- or 12-hour shifts within an 80-hour biweekly schedule
- Shift assignments and one on-call shift scheduled by management upon arrival
- Includes at least one weekend off per schedule rotation
