This role involves working directly with students to develop and enhance their fine motor, sensory, and functional skills critical to their academic and social success. The position requires travel, offering a dynamic work environment across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' needs through observation and testing to develop individualized therapy plans
- Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving students motor skills and daily living abilities
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate therapy goals within the classroom
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Adapt therapy techniques to meet the evolving needs of each student and setting
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with experience in pediatric or school-based therapy
- Strong understanding of developmental disorders and educational environments
- Ability to travel between various schools within the Aurora area
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and school staff
