Description:
The 4-Point System Auditor is responsible for inspecting incoming and in-process fabric rolls using the 4-Point Fabric Inspection System (ASTM D5430). This role ensures that fabric quality meets company and customer standards before being released to production and cutting.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabric Inspection
· Inspect fabric rolls on the inspection machine according to the 4-Point System.
· Identify, classify, and record defects such as holes, stains, mis weaves, shading / color variations, barre or slubs any fabric defect that can affect appearance of a garment.
· Assign penalty points based on defect size and frequency.
Reporting
· Maintain accurate inspection records including roll number, length, defects, and total points.
· Prepare inspection reports and submit to PI Manager.
· Photograph major defects for records and acceptance decisions.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: High school diploma or technical training in textiles preferred.
Experience:
· Minimum 1–2 years in textile/fabric inspection or quality control.
· Familiarity with the 4-Point System (ASTM D5430) preferred.
Skills:
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to identify and classify fabric defects.
· Basic computer/data entry skills.
· Effective communication and teamwork.
Working Conditions
· Work performed in warehouse or inspection room environment.
· Standing for extended periods while operating inspection equipment.
· May require lifting fabric rolls (with assistance or lifting equipment).
