continue to grow, we’re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team and support
financial reporting, project accounting, and compliance functions.
Position Summary
The Staff Accountant will support the finance team by assisting with financial statement preparation,
project accounting, and routine compliance tasks. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented, with
responsibilities that include posting payroll entries, preparing tax filings, and helping ensure accurate
reporting for both internal and external needs. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to grow

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Post payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
- Calculate sales commissions accurately and prepare supporting schedules.
- Manage project accounting:
- Track client budgets and project costs.
- Monitor margins and profitability by client, project, and campaign.
- Ensure revenue is properly recognized based on milestones or deliverables.
- Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for month-end and year-end close.
- File required sales and CAT tax returns in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with workers’ compensation filings and reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial results and provide variance explanations to management.
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and internal financial reporting.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
- Recommend and help implement process improvements to streamline financial operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with project accounting, job costing, or client profitability reporting stronglypreferred.
- Experience preparing sales tax, CAT tax, and workers’ compensation filings.
- Familiarity with payroll journal entries and payroll compliance.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communicator with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
