Description
American Traveler is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience to serve a geriatric patient population across a multi-county coverage area in Georgia.
Details
- Home health setting serving a geriatric patient population
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts); no weekends
- Caseload of approximately 6 visits per day with an average daily census of 115; full-time productivity target is approximately 25 units per week
- Coverage area primarily includes Washington, Johnson, Jefferson, and Emanuel counties, with occasional support in Burke, Screven, Bulloch, and Jenkins counties
- Average daily mileage is 50–100 miles; mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
- HCHB (Homecare Homebase) is the current EMR; Epic will be adopted partway through the contract period
- Floating within facility and scope of practice may be required as needed
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
Requirements
- Active OT license required — license required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of home health OT experience
- Current BLS certification required
- HCHB experience strongly preferred; candidates without HCHB experience must complete an online HCHB training course prior to starting (cost is the traveler's responsibility)
- Epic EMR experience needed for the latter portion of the assignment
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs of any color are accepted
- RTO maximum is 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- Holiday coverage is expected: if 1–2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least 1 full year before returning as a traveler
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above) are highly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time; non-compliance may result in a 2-week start date delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
