    About our School-Based Program

    As one of the largest providers of school-based therapy in our region, River Valley Counseling Center partners with 11 school districts in Hampshire and Hampden Counties to provide outpatient therapy and mental health care for children and adolescents.     Position Summary:

    The Clinical Supervisor at River Valley Counseling Center (RVCC) is responsible for overseeing the clinical evaluation and treatment of clients across all age groups, while also providing direct care as needed. This role includes supervising and training both exempt and non-exempt staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring high-quality documentation, and supporting program development and quality improvement initiatives. The Clinical Supervisor fosters collaborative relationships, promotes a positive work environment, and ensures that services are culturally competent and aligned with RVCC’s mission and goals.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • To support all aspects of RVCC’s Mission statement & clientele


    • To oversee clinical evaluations of clients of all ages and families


    • To provide direct care to clients and families


    • To summarize findings and treatment plan in accordance with RVCC procedures for treatment/services and present the same to multidisciplinary case disposition team.


    • To participate in multidisciplinary team meetings(UR)


    • To oversee any necessary outreach, advocacy, or case consultation appropriate to meet the needs of the clients and their families


    • To prepare for and participate and/or conduct regular supervision.


    • To monitor the performance of staff to ensure adherence to RVCC and Clinic policies and procedures and take appropriate action as necessary.


    • To mediate staff complaints and grievances and refer to the Human Resources department, as appropriate.


    • To participate actively in research, quality assurance or program development and monitoring.


    • To ensure that accurate and prompt documentation of client records occurs, and that client referral forms for other agencies and facilities are completed on a timely basis.


    • To provide crisis care, as necessary.


    • To attend and conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.


    • To ensure that staff evaluations are completed in a timely manner.


    Qualifications:

    Required:

    Education Level - Master’s degree with a concentration in human services, counseling, clinical psychology, or social work.

    Years of Experience - Three years of experience as a therapist with at least one year in a supervisory capacity; strong background in family interventions, including chemical dependencies

    Skills/Abilities - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; crisis intervention skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; computer skills; good customer relations skills; knowledge of legal and ethical issues pertaining to the profession.

    Licensing - Current Massachusetts license as an LMHC or LICSW.


    Preferred:

    Bilingual (Spanish/English)

    Summary of Benefits:

    Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000

    Based on years of experience, level of education, specialty and licensure/certifications. Additional compensation for advanced education for qualifying positions.
