About the Role
As a Fixed Asset & Lease Accountant, you'll play a key role in managing the financial records for capital assets and lease arrangements within a high-performance manufacturing environment. From acquisition to disposal, your work will ensure the integrity of fixed asset reporting, support compliance with lease accounting standards, and contribute directly to month-end processes. This position is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives on ownership, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do

Manage the full lifecycle of fixed asset accounting, including entries for acquisitions, retirements, and transfers

Reconcile asset sub-ledgers and post monthly depreciation and lease-related journal entries

Administer lease accounting under ASC 842, including classification, documentation, and reporting

Ensure alignment between job-cost inputs, asset records, and general ledger transactions

Support the monthly close with reconciliations, variance analysis, and audit preparation

Maintain lease and asset schedules while updating templates and internal tracking tools

Troubleshoot posting discrepancies and investigate transactional errors

Partner with operations, service, and engineering teams to capture relevant asset data

Provide backup support for general ledger, payroll entries, and transactional accounting as needed

Contribute to SOP development, system enhancements, and cross-departmental initiatives
What You Bring
-
Associates degree in Accounting required; Bachelors degree strongly preferred

24+ years of accounting experience, ideally in asset-intensive or multi-entity environments

Strong understanding of GAAP, fixed asset accounting, and lease standards

Skilled in Microsoft Excel, able to build pivot tables, formulas, and summary reports with ease

Familiarity with ERP systems (Sage 100 or similar highly preferred)

Detail-oriented mindset with a drive to identify and resolve inconsistencies

Team-first attitude, eager to ask questions and support process improvement
